AWARDS AND ACCOLADES

We are pleased to announce that we were graded ‘GOOD’ in all areas in our Ofsted inspection. This was amazing achievement considering it was our very first full inspection!

THE LANCASHIRE QUALITY AWARD 2022 - STAGE 1

To continue our development and commitment to be an ‘outstanding’ rated nursery, we have achieved the most prestigious award from Lancashire County Council, the ‘Lancashire Quality Award – Stage 1’ award in June 2018! The certificate can be viewed in nursery.

This award is split into 3 stages, each stage taking one year each. We have now started stage 2 and hope to complete this at the end of this academic year!

With the Lancashire Quality Award, it is the process of working together to improve ‘Quality’ which is emphasised; embedding the habit of constantly reviewing practice and being open to change, rather than the end-product of the award. Each setting is allocated a mentor by the Lancashire Quality Award team who supports practitioners through the process.

The seven modules within the award are:

  1. Relationships with children, parents and the wider community – Commenced this year
  2. Sharing food and celebrations
  3. Leading a successful team – Completed
  4. Opportunities and experiences
  5. Making the most of the outdoors – Commenced this year
  6. Role of the adult – Completed
  7. Meeting everyone’s needs

Millie’s Mark Award 2022

We are extremely proud to say that we are currently going through the process to get the Millie’s Mark Award!

Millie’s Mark is an exceptional achievement for a childcare setting, as it shows they are going above and beyond minimum requirements in keeping children safe. Having this award means that ALL our staff are paediatric first aid trained!

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines, which childcare settings in England are required to follow, currently state that just one person with a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present or on outings.

Millie’s Mark are awarded as a special endorsement to childcare providers that go above and beyond these minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid, and also ensuring that everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable.

When a setting gains the Millie’s Mark accreditation, you provide reassurance for your parents that all childcare practitioners know what to do in a paediatric first aid situation.

It acknowledges that children’s safety is at the forefront of your mind when you care for children.

The Lancashire Step into Quality Award 2018

Following a year’s hard-work and dedication from the SLT (senior leadership team) and staff, we achieved the ‘Step into Quality’ award from Lancashire County Council in July 2017. The certificate can be viewed in nursery.

The Step into Quality award is underpinned by the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Quality Improvement Principles. It involved the whole team reflection on provision and practice, across eight ‘steps’, which had a positive impact on the setting and supported staff development in:

  1. Environment
  2. Interactions
  3. Routines
  4. Key-person
  5. Parents Relationships
  6. Leadership and Management
  7. Transitions
  8. Learning and Development
